The Festival of the Oceans takes place June 15 thru 21!<\/em><\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Festival is our 2026 SS in SL<\/em> nautical exposition, by far the biggest boat show in this (or any) virtual world. But it’s much, much more!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Festival has its own Website for the first time this year. Scroll down to see the schedule, but for ALL the info head over to the Festival of the Oceans Home Page<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the entire Festival takes place at sea level (or on “The Hard” a short walk up) — no more sky platforms!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW FOR 2026: <\/strong> For Those in Peril On The Sea<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This year we have three SL search-and-rescue organizations<\/strong> participating! We also have a panel display on the work of the UK’s real-world Royal National Lifeboat Institution<\/strong> and a display of all the SL lifeboat <\/strong>models available, which will be alongside the Legends Of Second Life Sailing<\/em><\/strong> display in the adjacent Hrosskell region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year we have our first Festival repaint<\/strong><\/em> as a gift: the Laser One<\/em> reskinned by Vic Hollow<\/strong> of Hollow Family Industries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a SL Coast Guard ship on-site; exact vessel will be announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Land and Event Venues<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The new land area is named Admiral’s Walk<\/em><\/strong>, and the existing land used in previous years is named The Hard<\/em><\/strong>. Music\/dance events will take place on The Mandy Carthage Leeks Tower<\/em><\/strong> (formerly The Spire), and other events on the dais at Admiral’s Walk. SLCG demos, the Age of Sail battle (to be confirmed), Hotlaps and any other water-based activities will take place in adjacent Loorq<\/strong> ocean region and beyond. There’s even an underwater Mer environment that is open to the ocean, here’s the entrance<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPECIAL EVENTS are still being finalized. <\/strong> Expect a great presentation from the N&K Tall Ships and a day of demonstrations from the SL Coast Guard!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
